If you haven’t seen the concept images from Tim Burton for his upcoming version of Alice and Wonderland, you really need to take a look. They’re nothing short of amazing, fantastical, and spot on. At least they are as images. They make me nervous too – they’re setting pretty high expectations for the movie, and sadly in some of his recent films I don’t feel he has satisfied. I’m really hoping that Burton will take this to these dark and uncanny places as the images hint at. The film is being made through Walt Disney Pictures though, which could be troublesome as they might feel the need to find some happy medium between the dark twisted visions of Tim Burton which people love and the classic Disney version (which other people love). Of which, I imagine if they do go for this happy medium the film will be disappointing and be only half realized… at least for me based on the expectations the amazing photos set.

Just my opinion, but hope for something dark like Neco z Alenky (video on the bottom) and an exploration away from the Disney version.
